I finished another canvas today.  They are pretty additive.  This one I did with another girl from the blog http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.ca/2012/06/mixed-media-canvas-with-video-tutorial.html.  As I said before she is so wonderful to supply us with tutorials and patterns.  The verse that I used was on a pack of rub ons from Kaiser. It says "The dance is a poem of which each movement is a word."  Enjoy.

Never grows old.

Well, this 8x10" canvas has been a learning project.  But as a wise woman said to me "Its the end result that counts"  I thought I would post this before I start picking it apart like I always do.  The canvas was covered with Tim Holtz tissue paper and then painted various colors .  I tried to stamp one of Donna Downey's foam stamps on but with out much success so I just used my paint brush to fill them in.  I used Golden Paints on this canvas except for the white which is Ceramcoat.  When I use to do Folk Art painting it is the only paint I would use.  It covers really nice but on this piece I wanted something a little more transparent so I used the Goldens.  The verse is a stamp from Magenta.  The leaves are from Dylusions.  So I have a hodge podge of things on this but you know what "I like it"  Hope you enjoy it too.

Stand Out

I should be wrapping presents but here I am playing with a She Art Girl.  This one is a little different than the others that I have been playing with.  It has more cut and paste.  I got this pattern from a site called http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com/2012/06/mixed-media-fun-with-bo-bunny-template.html.  She is so generous to supply us with her tutorials and patterns.  She does the most beautiful work.  I didn't like how the lines looked so I covered everything with stickles.  lol  It looks a lot better now.

Birth of a She Art Girl

Thought I would show you the steps on how I did my first She Art girl.  It was a lot of fun and I am definately looking to do another one.  I used the same size canvas as the Santa one and I used the same technique for the background.
After I finished the background I cut pages from an old dictionary into the shape I needed for my girl

I fitted designer paper to make her clothes

I tried again after deciding I didn't like the first papers.  I added ruffles to the bottom of the skirt

New arms was needed and I started to glue down the girl

Here she is glued down

I drew some hair using my Fiber Castle pen and outlined the image.  I added some rub ons.  You definately need those

I decided I used too wide a pen to outline her and she looks pretty plump.  What to do, what to do!

Hey, a bigger head was needed.  Now she doesn't look so fluffy.  I wish I would have gotten a better picture.  One not so shiney.  But it was my first one and I am looking forward to the next.

Santa Canvas

I have been playing with my Pan Pastels again.  This time it is Santa.  The taller Santa looks like he might have been out partying a little too late.  Tis the Season to be Jolly!!  lol  The canvas is a small one only 4"x6".  The Santa heads are a stamp set from KK Originals called Santa set.  Thats original, don't you think.  lol  Sometimes I crack myself up.  :) I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut them out.  Yes, thats right Santa brought me a Cameo.  I love it.  I must have been realllllly good this year.  ;)
