Tim Holtz class

Yesterday I had a wonderful time down at the Savage Mills in Laurel.   I took one of Tim Holtz's classes.  He is such a wonderful teacher and very entertaining.  We made a grunge journal. (surprise) The wonderful thing about making a journal with a ruler binding and thumb screws is that you can unscrew the thumb screws and add extra pages.  He gave us a wonderful idea about taking this on a vacation using tags.  That way you could add pages as you do things so they wouldn't be forgotten.  Isn't that a great idea?  Kind of like a mini smash book.  Now I just have to finish all the pages inside.

They are getting done very slowly

I did another Christmas card today.  I am slowly getting them done between pages of the journal.  How many more months do I have to get them done??  Maybe I better shorten my card list.  lol  This is another Lili of the Valley stamp.  I just love these little images.  The paper is from Memory Box called Mistletoe.  I have had it for a while.  I have been hoarding it for over a year.  I used a Nestie to cut the image out and I colored it with my Copic Markers.  The florish is from Tim Holtz.  The flowers I punched out and then there is the punch from Martha Stewart that looks like branches.  Enjoy.

A Surprise

Never in my wildest dreams did I think this was for me.  My friend Mary made it.  When she posted it on her blog, all I could think of was "I have to make one of those. " Little did I know that it was for me.  What a surprise!!  Thank you so much, Mary!!!  Yes, that is a real chocolate bar in there.  Is this funny or what?

Ladies Journal

I have started a journal with Annes Papercreation.  http://www.annespapercreations.com  She does the most outstanding projects.  She just amazes me.  I just don't understand how one person can be so talented.  Here is what I have done so far.  I will post it all when we finish.  I hope I can do her justice.

While I am at It

Like I said in my previous post-- While I was delivering my cards to the Queen's Ink I just happened by the discount table and there were two stamps by Belk that would be perfect for tangling.  So the next day, off I went back to get them.  Just look at all that open space.  This is a tanglers dream.  Well, mine anyway.  So here is the card that I made with the second stamp.

I love the verse.  It is unmounted so I am not sure the maker. Probaby it is by Quietfire Designs.  They make the most beautiful stamps.  Here is a link to their site.   http://www.quietfiredesign.ca/home.php

The Queen's Gift Cards

I have been making a few gift cards for the Queens Ink.  I have made 30 in three days.  Needless to say I am a little card making out.  Of course once you get the design down the rest is easy.  I make 10 of each design.  This time I thought I would step it up a bit and do a Zentangle card for her. I first stamped her image and then tangled around it.  I have wanted to do this forever with a stamp.    Its a little plain but thought with the Zentangle it needed to be.  While I was at the store  I noticed a couple lined stamps on the discount table.  I will be going back today to get them.  When I looked at them I thought they would be nice to do like a cut glass technique but now I think they would be perfect to tangle between the lines.

Then there was the tri-fold card.  Still trying to use her stamps in all her gift cards wasn't the problem.  Trying to find the purple flowers was the problem.  I started with the small roses.  I got those from Michaels so when I went to get more they didn't have them.  I wanted to keep the size but forget that so I got the larger roses.  I ran out of those so I tried to make ribbon roses with seam binding from Martha Stewart.  Do they even look close to a rose?

Then there was the last card.   I can't believe that I didn't get a picture of it.  I will have to see what I can do when I get to the Queens Ink today. After I find more purple flowers for the Zentangle cards that is.  .  :(
