Mom would you

Today I get a phone call "Mom could you make me a cute birthday card and have it here before the mail goes out"  Yikes what was I suppose to do.  Guess I could have just said "Sorry" but hey where's the challenge in that.  So I used the sketch of my last card and made this.  She liked it, I liked it and someone's Mom got a birthday card.

This is another Mo's Digital image.  That woman can draw.  This one is called Bunches.  I colored the image with my copics and cut it out using Spellbinders Nesties.  The flourish is from Cherry Lynn Designs.  The flowers I punched out with a punch and sponged the edges.  The leaves are a punch from Nellie Snellen.  The card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

Fan's Cricket

Don't you just love it when a card you make comes out exactly how you wanted it to.  Thats how I feel about this card I made.  I wish I could get a better picture.  But I was surfing the web and came across the Sugar Nellie blog hop (http://www.sugarnellie.blogspot.com/2012/05/fifi-goes-shopping_26.html)  One of the designers name is Marianne ( http://mariannespapir.blogspot.com)  I fell in love with her cards.  She talks about how if you have an unusual card it makes it all the more special.  She has a few tutorials to show different ways to cut  and fold your cards to give them that little edge.  So this is one I cased from her site.  The card opens where the punched edge is.  The image is one of Mo's Digital Images called Fans Cricket.  Crickets are a symblol of good luck in Japan.  The paper is from a 6x6 pack called Botanical collection by Prima Marketing.  The rolled rose is one I cut using the Itty Bitty Die from Spellbinder and the leaves are a punch from Nellie Snellen.  You get two punches one to cut with and one to emboss with.

Katniss

Here she is.  I wanted to color her dress depicting the fire, so I started with yellow at the top and slowly blended it to a red at the bottom.  Then I coloried it with my Versa Mark pen and  used Stamping Up Iridescent Ice to emboss it to make it all glittery and shiny. I mean it is suppose to represent fire after all.   After I got her colored, I then went looking for paper to match.  Kind of putting the cart before the horse, wouldn't you say?  Thank heavens I had Stella Ruby from Basic Grey because that is just what the doctor ordered.  I used the Spellbinders Floral Die to cut her out.  Its a little tricky getting the paper out of the die but I love this die.  Then it was some punches and a few pearls and she was finished. The image is from Sassy Studio Design .  If you like to color people this is the place to get digi stamps.    http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com Inside I used the greeting that says "You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have"  I thought that worked.

Because

When I recieved the email of the Sassy Saturdays card (http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/2012/05/sassy-saturday.html)  I knew I had to color that image.  I didn't realize I colored it the same color that Sheryl did.  I could have sworn her's was green.  I am such a copier.  Anyway the first one I colored, my Copic marker decided to drip a large drop right in the middle of her head.  It was color T7 and that is an almost black color.  So that one went in the trash.  "Never give up" is my new motto.  lol  So I did it again.  I tried to find something that went with the theme of the image to decorate the card with and not copy Sheryls.  I don't believe I have anything or I couldn't find anything so I just blinged it up. I really loved how Sheryl's card was all Jewel tones and had such an Egyptian theme. So I guess I have to go shopping for new paper. Any excuse to go shopping. lol Enjoy!

Today Sassy Studio Designs http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/is sponsoring CraftyMess http://craftymesschallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk  and tody is a challenge called Pink and Cute.  I don't think I could get any pinker than this.  This image is called Ashlee's Prom.  I thought she was pretty cute thats why I had colored her a while back so when this challenge came up I was ready.  I used Martha Stewart Punch around the page to do the borders on the panels.  The printed paper is from a pack called Text Style Pink Patterns by PaperTrey Ink.  The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.  They are really small in size and fit perfectly on cards.

Sassy Studio Designs

I was doing this card for the challenge to use two ribbons and before I got it done I received another email telling of a challenge to use a frame so I guess this card will take care of both of them.  I was thinking that this card would be good as a thank you for a brides maid.  I love this soft blue and all those lacy die cuts.  This image is called Elizabeth Bennet.  She is so pretty.  You can find the image at http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com.  The first challenge is DTBST#123 at the Dare to be Sassy site and the second is at Party Time Tuesday at http://partytimetuesdays.blogspot.com.   The frame is a die I got from Cheery Lynn Designs http://www.cheerylynndesigns.com.  The paper just falls right out of these dies.  I cut an oval with my spellbinders and ran it threw the cuttle bug with an embossing folder.  The blue sentiment backing is a die from Verve.  I added a couple ribbon flowers and a couple of ribbons just tied once.  The cornor pieces are also from Cheery Lynn
