SteampunkVivian

This week for the Sunday Sketch and Stamp http://sundaysketchandstamp.blogspot.com we were to use this sketch to make a card.  Sketch104 Well, mines not square and my circle isn't round but I kind of got it.  I used Sassy Studio Designs' Steampunk Vivian to make the card.  I have a SVG cut image of some gears and clock hands so I thought I might try to grunge them up to use on this card.  I used some brass embossing powder than used  Adirondack acrylic paint in black to grunge it.  Well it didn't quite come out like I wanted it to but here she is.  The roses were cut using Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms Die and the leaves were punched with Nellie Snellin punches.  There are two to a set one for punching and the other to emboss it.  I got the punches at  http://www.7kidscollegefund.com

Just Be You

As with all cards this one looks better in person.  I had the worst time getting a decent picture of it.  Not sure if it was the pink or what but it just didn't want to photograph well.  For the life of me I couldn't get it lighter.  So I just gave up.  This card is for the Fabulous Freebie Friday on Paper Craft Planet.  The image is one from Sassy Studio Designs.  It seems like they are the only ones I am coloring these days.  If you would like to participate or to see what it is all about, here is a link to the challenge.  http://www.papercraftplanet.com/group/sassystudiodesigns/forum/topics/fabulous-freebie-friday-4-27-12-and-challenge

Peace on Earth

This is a card for Sassy Studio Designs Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com.  This week we were to do  a Christmas or winter card with a sentiment.  Its not that hard once you see their wonderful images for the holidays.  What is it about white on white lately.  I just love it.  The background is an embossing folder from Stampin Up  and the sentiment from Technique Tuesday is stamped on a Spellbinders tag.  I enhanced the tag with stickles all around the edge.  I added a couple snowflakes (where they came from I still don't know. They were in my stash)  I colored the image on Mohawk bright white paper and mounted her using dimensional tape.  I lined her ruffles, the bottom of the cape, and bottom of her dress with Spica pen for a little glitter but you can't see it in the picture.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Today I did a card for Sassy Studio Designs and their sponsor this week is Tuesday Morning Sketches http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com. I love this mermaid by Sassy Studio Designs  and thought I would try to do a card with her using some shells that I cut using old Sizzex dies.  Well they didn't come out so well but I love how the coloring came out on the mermaid.  I think what I love most about these images is the detail they have in their hair.  It is so fun to try to get the waves and dimension of it.  The second thing I have discovered is I like to color different types of skin colors and how to shade them.  It presents a real challenge to me.  While I was at the Copic Certification class Marianne Walker showed us how to blend colors so I did this on her tail and fin, going from green to a blue.  I did it at her waist too.

My Fair Lady

Over at Craft Your Days Away they are having a challenge to use metal on your card.  This is my entry.  I used an old Coke can to cut out the flowers with A Heartfelt Creations die.  I then colored it with alcohol inks by Ranger.  I had stamped it with the Heartfelt Creations stamp that co ordinates with this die before cutting it out but I used StazOn and evenditally it isn't one that is combatable with the alcohol inks because it dissapeared.  Either that or I am magic.  lol  The image is from Sassy Studio Designs called My Fair Lady.  I couldn't remember what her dress looked like in the movie and didn't know if it had pruple feather but my version does.  The little cornor stamp in the cornor is by Sweet Impressions Stamps (SweetStamps.com)

Also at Crazy Challenge they are having a challenge to use a movie as inspiration for your card.  Of course it isn't hard to figure out what mine is ---My Fair Lady.  If you want to play along go to http://crazychallenge.blogspot.com   Have fun and play along

Steampunk by Kenny K

This lady is a little scary.  But again she was fun to color.  I think I am going to try the Bombshell stamps.  I was always intimidated by them but I think I am ready.  Bring them on.  lol

Queen Gorgo

Yep, I have done it again.  I can't tell you how much I am enjoying coloring these images.  This is a free image that they offer on Friday.  Not sure if it is still available but I would go to Paper Craft Planet, click on groups, join Sassy Design Studio, and download the free image.  Yep, I did her twice.

Cowgirl Sassy

Yep, I am at it again.  This is another Sassy Studio Design digital.  I wanted something to put in the upper left cornor and I had a little plastic branch with pink flowers on it .  The branch was too fat for a card.  So I pulled the flowers off it and cut out a branch with brown cardstock.  I glued the flowers on and it worked.  Yea, for me because I really liked the branch on there.  I think I might redo the cowgirl because her face looks a little dark.  In real life she is a little dark but not as dark as it seems in this picture.

Steampunk

I don't know a lot about Steampunk but I enjoyed coloring this image from Sassy Studio Designs.  Click on the title to this post and it will take you to their site.  I had to go on line to find what Steampunk is all about.  I colored this image with my Copic's and the background paper is from Basic Grey.  It is called Marrakech.  It has really pretty colors. The flower I got at a shop in Glen Burnie that is now closed.  The ribbon is seam binding and the die cut is from Marianne designs.  It is one of her creatables.  I finally found a place in the US that sells them.  The link to them is http://shop.sweetstamps.com/EMBOSS-CUT-FOLDERS_c210.htm  The punch that I used on the blue paper is from Martha Stewart.

So while I was in the mood to color, I made a third card. This one is for the littlest guy in our family, James.  He is so full of energy and he cracks me up.  Some of the things that come out of that boys mouth!  This is another Sassy Cheryl's digital images.  Again I colored it with my Copic markers.  The background paper on this one is from a tablet called All About Boys.  The sentiment is from a set from Hero Arts.  It is so fitting--He does make me smile.

Boy Scout

My grandson, Dylan, just did the bridging ceremony into Boy Scouts.  We are so proud of him and I thought I would make a card to let him know.  This image is a digital image from Sassy Cheryls.  She has some cute images.  I am really getting into these digital images.  I like how you are not stuck with just one size.  You can make them any size you want and if you want to crop them, you can do that too.  And storage is no problem at all.  This image I colored with my copics.  I used Spellbinders to cut the oval and the title strip at the bottom.  The ribbon in the background (I guess you call it a ribbon) is a Memory Box die.  The background paper is some I had left over from covering a cigar box.  It worked here.  Enjoy!

Pirate Penny

Per order of Mary, I figured I better step up and post to my blog.  lol.  I recently got a Sassy Studio Design digital image.  These images are so fun and so well drawn.  I colored this with Copic Markers.  The paper I used in the background is by Basic Grey called Sugar.  My card base and the paper I used to print the image on is Mohawk.  I love this paper to use with my Copics.
