Never start cleaning in the Craft Room

Or you will never get anything done.  Yesterday I was suppose to be cleaning.. And if you saw my craft room  you would realize why I wanted to start there.  So I get into the room and was trying to figure out where to start when my mind starts wandering.  "Hmmm, I need a gift box for Saturday"  "OK I will quick whip that up and at least be done with that"  Then I will get right back to cleaning.  Well, 6 hours later there has been nothing done in the cleaning department but I had a beautiful gift box.  One thing off the list and there is always tomorrow.  Company wont be here until Sat so that leaves me three more days to get everything cleaned, right? The Church pattern is from SVGcuts.com.  It comes with the church, gift bag, a card, and a small gift box.  And it all was cut with my Silhouette.  Gotta love that machine!!

Walk alone

Wow, i made cards two days in a row.  I am on a roll now.  This cute little image is from Sassy Cheryl's Digi's.  Again I colored it with my Copic's.  I just used the digi images and added nothing but a few Zapdots under the stars.  They are clear pop dots that I got at the Queens Ink.  They aren't real thick so they don't raise the images too high.  I like that.  Again the papers are from Graphic 45.  The pad is called French Country.  The inside has the stars across the top colored on white paper and a little strip of the red paper at the bottom.  Lots of space for a message sense this card is an A6----4 1/2" x 6 1/4".

Hello

My goodness how long has it been sense I posted a card.  I have been so busy with all my other hobbies that it seems like forever.  This little image I bought from Sassy Cheryl's Digi's.  I thought it was so cute. There is the same image that is a little boy.    And I really needed a few just "hello" cards..  They are so good to use to drop a line to someone that you haven't spoken too in a while.  I colored it with my Copic markers and used Graphic 45 papers for the background. I was pretty pleased to see how it came out. The red flower is one punched out of coffee filters and colored with Copic's.  The paper that she is printed on is a little sparkly.  I am not sure who makes it.  I almost think it is from Stampin Up. I am going to do some checking because it worked with the markers really well.  I dug out my decorative scissors to cut the mat behind the main image.  Boys, it had been a while sense those were used.  (or dusted)

Hat model

I have found a model that does justice to my hats I have been making.  I finally added the flower to this one.  The doll I made back in 1989 I think.  I have had it setting up over my dresser all this time.  I use to do craft fairs back then.  Mostly I did folk art paintings.  My neighbor, Margaret Allen who also did the fairs, made these dolls and she showed me how to do them.  She was a definite artist when it came to sewing things.  So the doll has now been promoted to hat model.  She definitely looks better in it than my last model----me.

Is there a end to this madness

Seems like I want to learn everything.  Is there no end.  I have taken up knitting and crocheting.  I have learned to Tunesian crocheting and Portuguese knitting.  I have learned the difference between Continential knitting and English knitting.  I am trying it all.  Now I have the urge to learn to draw.  So I am going to post my attempt at doing faces.  I am trying to capture different moods.  Not doing so well.  They kind of look all the same to me.  I did get them to face in different directions.  I even got a dude in there with curley hair.  lol Its all fun.

Card #3

Yep, I have been playing again.  Can't seem to stop coloring these little Saturated Canary images.  This one I colored with my Copic's.  I love adding all these layers to my cards and it gives me a chance to use all these dies that have  been setting around here forever.  I used my punch to punch out the coffee filters again to make the flower.  I colored the four layers of punched coffee filers with copic markers, added a brad to the center and scrunched it up.  When you unfold it you have a beautiful little flower.  Try it!!  Its  not too thick to mail.  I like that alot. The image is cut with a Nestie circle die. The red cornors and the red scollop circle are Nesties as well.    The doiley is a MFT  die, and the leaves are cut with a Marianne Designs die.  I can't remember who made the button die. I glued designer paper to some cardstock and cut the the buttons out.  They needed to be a little more stable and the cardstock did that for me.

Just a few things I have been doing.

It has been forever sense I have been on my blog.  Its not that I haven't been making cards or things because I have.  I guess I have just been a bit lazy.  I have taken my Intermediate Copic certification.  What a great day that was.  I can now proudly display my certification label.  Or whatever it is called.  I am learning to knit so I have been making hats and scarfs like you wouldn't believe.  Everyone I know I think has a hat.  lol  I took a Portuguese knitting class on Sat. from Andrea Wong.  She is an excellent teacher and her knitting is above compare.  So today I thought I would make a couple cards using my Prismacolor pencils.  It has been forever sense I have used them.  It was such fun. The flowers on these cards are made using coffee filters and coloring them with Copics.  The images are digital images from Saturated Canary

At the Copic Class we experimented with using dark colors and light sources.  So I had to try them out on a few stamps that I got down to the Queens Ink in Laurel, MD.

Smash book She Art Girl

I have been trying to figure out what to do at a Smash Book get together.  So for lack of better things to do I decided to make a She Art page. I am trying to post things that I like in my smash book.  I cut her out and thought I would make her this Sat. at the meeting.  One thing lead to another and I finished my page.  Now what to do on Saturday.  Well, here she is enjoy

BoBunny Mini Album

Bo Bunny Album  Here is a link to my BoBunny mini album.  I had a lot of fun making this album.  The papers are from a pack of BoBunny papers called Little Miss Gracie.  I love this paper.  It reminds me of the She Art Girls which is my favorite thing to make these days.  I made it using Angelwings14100Utube video  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpuiLx-bH_E .  She really does the most beautiful things.  Check her out. The mini album is from Karen Gerrards.  Here is the video to this mini.  Hers is made using left over papers.  https://plus.google.com/101251785589437773859/posts/FxAQePEPoXQ

I finished another canvas today.  They are pretty additive.  This one I did with another girl from the blog http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.ca/2012/06/mixed-media-canvas-with-video-tutorial.html.  As I said before she is so wonderful to supply us with tutorials and patterns.  The verse that I used was on a pack of rub ons from Kaiser. It says "The dance is a poem of which each movement is a word."  Enjoy.

Never grows old.

Well, this 8x10" canvas has been a learning project.  But as a wise woman said to me "Its the end result that counts"  I thought I would post this before I start picking it apart like I always do.  The canvas was covered with Tim Holtz tissue paper and then painted various colors .  I tried to stamp one of Donna Downey's foam stamps on but with out much success so I just used my paint brush to fill them in.  I used Golden Paints on this canvas except for the white which is Ceramcoat.  When I use to do Folk Art painting it is the only paint I would use.  It covers really nice but on this piece I wanted something a little more transparent so I used the Goldens.  The verse is a stamp from Magenta.  The leaves are from Dylusions.  So I have a hodge podge of things on this but you know what "I like it"  Hope you enjoy it too.

Stand Out

I should be wrapping presents but here I am playing with a She Art Girl.  This one is a little different than the others that I have been playing with.  It has more cut and paste.  I got this pattern from a site called http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com/2012/06/mixed-media-fun-with-bo-bunny-template.html.  She is so generous to supply us with her tutorials and patterns.  She does the most beautiful work.  I didn't like how the lines looked so I covered everything with stickles.  lol  It looks a lot better now.

Birth of a She Art Girl

Thought I would show you the steps on how I did my first She Art girl.  It was a lot of fun and I am definately looking to do another one.  I used the same size canvas as the Santa one and I used the same technique for the background.
After I finished the background I cut pages from an old dictionary into the shape I needed for my girl

I fitted designer paper to make her clothes

I tried again after deciding I didn't like the first papers.  I added ruffles to the bottom of the skirt

New arms was needed and I started to glue down the girl

Here she is glued down

I drew some hair using my Fiber Castle pen and outlined the image.  I added some rub ons.  You definately need those

I decided I used too wide a pen to outline her and she looks pretty plump.  What to do, what to do!

Hey, a bigger head was needed.  Now she doesn't look so fluffy.  I wish I would have gotten a better picture.  One not so shiney.  But it was my first one and I am looking forward to the next.

Santa Canvas

I have been playing with my Pan Pastels again.  This time it is Santa.  The taller Santa looks like he might have been out partying a little too late.  Tis the Season to be Jolly!!  lol  The canvas is a small one only 4"x6".  The Santa heads are a stamp set from KK Originals called Santa set.  Thats original, don't you think.  lol  Sometimes I crack myself up.  :) I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut them out.  Yes, thats right Santa brought me a Cameo.  I love it.  I must have been realllllly good this year.  ;)

Karen Garrard's Mini Album

The cover closes with a magnet under the tab.

first page is actually two half pages.  Inside cover on left side has a pocket

Half the first page open.  I put a pocket on the second half

second page

Third page--another pocket

Forth page is three tags

The back inside of the album.
I have a new follower, Karen Garrard.  I checked out her blog.  OMG!! was I surprised to find what I did.  She does the most amazing things and faboulous video tutorials.  I am so glad she found me.  Here is a little album I made using her tutorial.  If these papers look familar, I am trying to use up the papers I had left over from making the Gift album.  I am not sure I ever will. This album is like a tri fold card.  Some pages open from the left and some from the right.   It was quick and easy.  It can't get any better than that.

Glad today is over

What a day.  I am totally exhausted.  I worked all day on five, count them five, ornaments.  They were on the front of a Stampin Up catalog and all of us Meade Stampers fell in love with them but what a PITA.  Now I find out that they sell kits to make them.  And cheap too.  I could have gone the rest of my life with out hearing that.  Tomorrow, well I guess I better finish my Christmas cards.  I have put that off for too long.

Christmas Journal Page

I finally finished the journal page that I had been working on.  I have a million things to do but it was calling me.  As you all know I took Dyan Reaveleys class.  I really still enjoy doing this messy art.  Friday night I took Donna Downey's class.  Another messy one.  I have to work on those pan pastels.  So you won't be seeing anything from that class soon.  lol  And then there is Christy Tomlinson.  Am I seeing a pattern here.  I think so.  I am definately getting to use all the embossing paste that I bought a long time ago up to the Amish country.  I used the transparent pearlescent on the snowflakes.  I love it.  I bought it to use on cards and never did.  It is good to know it is getting used instead of setting in my closet.  Any way I thought I would just show you the journal page.  Enjoy

Art Journal

Today I finished my journal cover.  I have been planning on doing this forever.  I am pretty pleased with the way it came out.  I  got a book called Collage Couture to help learn how to make Fashionable Art (The girl).  I am really enjoying them.  Lots to learn though.  So this cover is a combination of Dyan Reaveley's techniques (the background) and Collage couture.  Now just to get it filled with wonderful things that I plan to try.  Enjoy

More dylusional

I have to tell you I LOVE making these cards.  You do get inky for sure.  I can't wait to take the class at the Queen's Ink that Dyan Reaveley is going to teach.  It is going to be so fun.  Here is a video of her working the line at the factory.
